Irresistible Chocolate Chip Cookies
Need I say more? I promise you, these are THE BEST chocolate chip cookies you will ever bake. Know the smell of a freshly baked cookie with a hint of nutty flavor wafting out of a bakery? That very smell will fill up your house and make everyone at home come running towards the kitchen!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup unsalted butter stick
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg yolk
1 whole egg
1 tbsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup mixed chocolate chips (milk & dark)
Recipe:
Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan until it’s nice and brown (keep a close eye on it, it goes from brown to burnt very quickly and we don’t want burnt butter!)
Strain the butter once it’s brown in a mixing bowl and let it cool just a bit before adding the brown and the granulated sugar.
Once the mixture cools down a little bit (enough to make sure the eggs don’t cook in the heat) add the egg yolk and the whole egg.
Add vanilla, flour, baking soda and salt and mix it well. Put the mixture in the fridge for 5-10 mins before adding the chocolate chips. (If the mixture is warm, it can melt the chocolate chips and while it does not change the taste of the cookie, it’ll be sans the chips! Why we cool down the mixture before adding in the chocolate chips).
After 5-10 mins, add the chocolate chips to the mixture and mix it well. This dough will make about 10-12 large cookies. Roll the cookie balls and place it on a baking tray (lined with parchment paper) while keeping enough space between each cookie.
Preheat the oven to 350 F and bake the cookies for 10-12 mins. Let them cool down for sometime before you indulge. The brown butter enhances the nutty flavor and your cookies smell as if they’re baked in a high-end bakery with all the bells & whistles!
